Pete has been exploring sound, music, breath, energy and presence throughout his life and has been running holistic workshops in various forms since 1995. He began his love affair with music aged 3 and at 5 he started learning the violin. At 15 his school’s insistence that only classical music was allowed, coupled with dyslexia culminated in him losing his passion for playing the violin. At 18 he took up the guitar, joined a blues band and quietly sang in the background. He has had a long career as lead vocalist to anything on the radio whenever he was out driving alone!
His life dramatically changed in 2004 when he was working in India and was introduced to both chanting devotional mantras and also a cappella and vocal harmony. Since then has been an avid Unicorn Voicecamp attendee – he has enjoyed singing in several choirs and attending many singing retreats and workshops. He was deeply inspired by the teaching of Nick Prater with whom he trained to teach a capella.
Now Pete uses a cappella, breath work and other tools to bring people into a deeper sense of their uniqueness, spiritual connection and intimacy with the moment. He brings together all he has learned to create fun, engaging and many people say deeply spiritual vocal harmony workshops.
In 2010 he and partner Kalindi founded devotional music band Ananda Murtaye which has gone through several incarnations – they sing songs of devotion from around the world in multi part harmony.
Since 2012 Pete has been running Succulent Humm – Glastonbury’s sacred songs embodiment choir.
